Ben helped me both with finding a tenant for my condo as well as selling it. I don't live in Chicago anymore so I really appreciated how response and proactive he was. He always kept me up to date on how things were going and was very knowledgeable about the area. I trusted that Ben was working hard to find us the best possible tenant/buyer and in the end, he was able to find us both at great prices. With the sale of the house, there were some unique circumstances where Ben truly went above and beyond. Ben genuinely loves his job and his enthusiasm cannot be matched. Ben went above and beyond to help me make my condo look its best, to get the best promotional materials, and to get the most visibility with potential buyers. We started receiving offers within 24 hours of the first open house, and within only a couple of days I accepted a very nice offer. Ben definitely works very hard for you, he does excellent work.

In a fiercely competitive real estate marketplace it’s important to select and identify the very best individual to represent and sell your condo. Ben’s responsible approach is keenly focused on developing an authentic relationship that serves the best interests of all parties involved. Ben truly cares about his clients, he’s an expert negotiator and extremely FAST at everything he does. Bens finesse and polish in an interactive competitive real estate market is in one word, remarkable. Ben has a skill set of his own and he is a true pace setter in the real estate industry. Ben naturally conducts himself with a great deal of grace, class, and integrity. Ben is the best and I highly recommend him selling your home.

Ben was a fantastic realtor to work with. There were four particular qualities that I respect most about Ben: 1) responsiveness, 2) authenticity, and 3) likeability. and 4) resourcefulness
1) Responsiveness: Ben was always quick to respond to a text or a call, whether on a weekend or during the workweek. He took great care of me as a first-time home buyer and made sure that everything was clear throughout the process
2) Authenticity: In every place we visited (and there were multiple), Ben provided an objective opinion on each one, based on some of my preferences. He walked me through aspects where buyers trip up, and provided solid advice on whether he thought that particular place would be a good long-term deal.
3) Likeability: Ben is a genuinely nice guy - funny, affable, and down-to-earth. This definitely helped make the process all the more easy, removing the stress that buyers often have when looking in a competitive market.
4) Resourcefulness: The vast majority of realtors come with a network of support services, such as lawyers and mortgage brokers. Ben's went above and beyond my expectations to make sure everything throughout the process was simple and straightforward. Their fees and rates were competitive, too.
Would definitely work with Ben again, and I encourage others to do the same!

I started looking to purchase a condo in Chicago (river north) this past November with no experience and I really wasn’t even sure where to start.
I went on Zillow and requested to tour a few properties, and Zillow reached out to connect me with Ben. We had a preliminary phone call to discuss my criteria in condos, and Ben put together an online portfolio of well-curated selection within the next two days - I was able to easily mark each property as either “interested”, “maybe”, or “not interested”.
I have a pretty demanding work schedule, but I still wanted to see over 20 properties before comfortably making my decision, and Ben was extremely accommodating. He scheduled a visit for 17 of the properties I was interested in all on one single Saturday. I believe on average, potential buyers view no more than 5 or 6 properties a day. I really appreciated him understanding my need for efficiency and being able to have a whole day of his schedule devoted to me. Really, seventeen! I’m sure any other agent would have tried to talk me out of it or gotten worn out towards the end, but Ben was still as energetic and focused as always, reminding me about details from properties that I might have forgotten.
We spent about an hour in a coffee shop and Ben then walked me through the entire process from making an offer to closing on a condo. It was clear that he’d done this many times before, and had a lot of experience in the Chicago area. I’m the type of person who enjoys getting down to the nitty gritty and thoroughly understanding all possible situations, and I asked a lot of hypothetical that probably wouldn’t happen to me, but Ben was really patient and explained everything until I was comfortable with moving on in the process. After negotiations, the seller gave their verbal offer on Christmas Day, and the bulk of the work began - attorney review, inspection, etc. It speaks volumes about the professionalism of everyone that I was working with that they were responsive on the most important holiday in the country. Ben was out of town with family but he was absolutely available for me on the phone, through text and email, and made sure he was completely on top of my transaction.
One of my favorite parts of working with Ben is that he recommended a whole team of people who were just as competent as he was. The lender that he recommended I talk to gave me better rates than a broker recommended to me by friends, the real estate attorneys Ben recommended specialized in Chicago condos and were professional and knowledgeable, and the inspection was scheduled promptly and went smoothly. Most importantly, since all the parties had worked with each other before, all of these people worked together seamlessly. Overall, my first experience purchasing a home was a fantastic one, and I would absolutely recommend Ben to anyone looking for property in Chicago.

Ben helped me buy my first condo and he was a pleasure to work with, to say the least.
I was referred to Ben from friends in February 2019, to my closing it's been about 5 months and Ben has been very helpful every step of the way. We actually took a break and put off condo-hunting for a couple months as I had to study for an exam but Ben was extremely accommodating even though it meant essentially having the work he had done prior to the break go to waste.
I'm also the type of person who has no idea what to ask during showings and Ben was always able to remind me of what to look for. On a similar vein, Ben was extremely thorough in explaining the entire process from showings to the closing to a new buyer. After deciding on a place, Ben put me in touch with a team of lawyers, lender & inspector who were all similarly excellent to work with.
To top it all off, Ben is super easy to get along with and as a result, I enjoyed the entirety of what could've been a thoroughly stressful undertaking.
I would recommend Ben Lissner without a second thought.

Ben is the consummate professional. He knew how to stage my property so it showed to its best advantage, and it sold in 2 weeks, in a very competitive market. And though my house-hunting was a bit frenzied, he calmly helped me navigate the process, even during the coronavirus crisis. I can't recommend Ben highly enough!!

My wife and I weren't likely the best clients of Ben Lissner's, as we searched and searched for a new home for approximately 6 months.. But all I can say is that Ben was very diligent in finding us properties, always flexible at accommodating our crazy schedules for showings, and most importantly Ben truly shined at the negotiation table. We got a fantastic deal and oh by the way, did I mention he made it happen during this crazy pandemic we're in?! Ben's experience in the Chicago & greater Chicago real estate market was extremely evident throughout the home buying process and his network of contacts all the way from recommended inspectors, real estate attorney, to the fantastic lender recommendation... it all was top notch and we would recommend Ben even if you're just starting to look. We felt comfortable throughout the entire process purchasing our first home together in the city and give Ben 5 stars! He's very responsive via text, call, email and will help steer you in the right direction if you're looking for investment properties to flip, commercial properties, or just trying to seek value in first time home purchases like we did. Ben was a total pro and made the homebuying process as smooth as possible! It was a pleasure working with Ben and he has a great team working alongside him. He was quick and responsive to texts and emails at all hours of the day (and night!) and I could tell that he always had my best interests in mind. My partner and I were first time home buyers and didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into. Ben was there with us every step of the way and made sure we understood the process. He really listened to all of our wants/needs and helped us find our perfect first home.
Due to Covid-19 we had a VERY difficult time with getting a loan in place. Once our offer was accepted it was about 2-3 months of paperwork/finding a mortgage company that would accept us. Ben gave us a great recommendation to a mortgage lender that really saved us. Ben was very patient and really helped guide us through the ups and downs of the process. He was with us through it all and I couldn't be more grateful.

Ben was very knowledgeable about the chicago market. Was very accessible and flexible with his time. Not to mention friendly and kind. He allowed me to show him what kind of homes i liked and then would look for those homes to show me as well as similar homes i might like. He was able to show me homes that fell within my budget. We had a lot of time to see a variety of homes and settle on what was best for me.

We have been through the process of buying homes before, but this has been by far the most easiest & enjoyable experience we have gone through. Despite the expected pandemic restrictions, Ben was able to give us multiple virtual showings of many properties which was very much representative of an in-person viewing. We really appreciated his professional guidance throughout the purchasing process from start to finish. His referral team to help close the purchase were also very knowledgeable & experienced. Ben was wonderful to work with! I was a first time homeowner, doing a cross country move, trying to purchase during the the pandemic.. not an easy situation. Ben worked with me for months to find a place that I LOVE. When I first reached out last year I was passively looking and Ben was not pushy at all. We did many video tours as I was not able to see them in person and he was honest about the quality of the places I looked at, pointing out things that I couldn't see virtually. I would unreservedly recommend Ben to anyone looking for a real estate agent. He was already attentive and helpful when we were first dipping our toes into the water, then he turned it up a notch when we decided to put in an offer. As first-time buyers, we needed a lot of handholding and reassurance, and he provided that. He helped us negotiate a good chunk off the asking price, connected us to a network of other great service providers (inspector, lawyer, banker, etc.), and advocated for us every step of the way. If we ever need to sell, he will be the first person we call.
